The vision of the Central Valley Book Bank (CVBB) is that every child in the Central Valley will have access to an adequate supply of age appropriate books to help them become proficient readers. As a project of the United Way of Fresno County, CVBB provides free and low cost children’s books to schools and nonprofit organizations servicing low income and disadvantaged populations. Our mission is to act as a resource for programs dedicated to developing a desire to read and improving reading skills while enhancing classroom and home libraries.

Bank Deposits (How You Can Help)

There are a number of ways to provide assistance, including:

• Donate books (Pre-K through 12).
• Conduct a book drive.
• Volunteer to help sort, repair and distribute books.
• Donate money and supplies or participate in our Bucks for Books program.
• Become a Book Bank Patron

Bank Withdrawals (Applying For Books)

• Nonprofit organizations can obtain books by opening an account at the bank and, upon approval, completing an application for a withdrawal. Because quantities are limited, not all withdrawal requests can be fulfilled.
• Schools wishing to be considered for book withdrawals should contact CVBB directly to determine their eligibility and for instructions on how to apply.
